165% Increase In Organic Traffic With Just Content
Overview:
ExploreEverything, a travel and lifestyle company, was struggling to increase traffic to its website through its social channels alone. With social media traffic declining, they partnered with Outreach Rebel to develop a plan to increase their organic traffic and rely less on social media.
Challenges:
ExploreEverything’s website wasn’t designed with SEO in mind. Meaning there were a few technical hurdles to overcome.
Second, the site had relevantly low domain authority, meaning it would be more challenging to outrank competitors covering the same topic. ExploreEverything wasn’t interested in building links, so keyword research and content quality were imperative to success.
Solution:
At the end of 2019, we started outlining a new content strategy based on a mix of informational and buyer-intent keywords. At the top of 2020, our content team began publishing 150 new high-quality blog posts throughout the year.
During the publishing process, ExploreEverything wanted to start an email list. We placed email form opt-ins above each post and included multiple calls to action to grow their list within our content.
Results:
Over the course of 12 months, our new content took them from an average of 2,978 page views per month to an average of 32,017. That’s a 165% increase in traffic.
With a new email list in place, the blog accounted for over 97% of all new email sign-ups resulting in 1,520 active subscribers to their list. Today, they average 59 new valid email sign-ups per month.
With a new strategy and two new marketing channels, ExploreEverything increased its revenue by 3.4x by using content as its primary traffic source. ExploreEverything now uses content to capture emails, and regularly markets to its list without fear of social media restricting organic reach.
